Question

I have just upgraded my Retail POS to the current edition.  When I create a new database file (QBPOS.PDB) why do I get the error:

An error occurred in ‘modprocessqbstand’. ‘Processstandardfile’. 70 permissions denied?

Answer

You will experience this problem on the POS Administrator PC if the earlier version of Retail POS did not fully uninstall.

Detailed Instructions

1.    Close QuickBooks and Retail POS.  Ensure you have a backup of your existing POS database file on a separate media.

2.    Uninstall the current version of Retail POS.  If another Retail POS is still installed, uninstall it.

3.    Use a 3rd party uninstaller like Revo Uninstaller Freeware (available from: https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html) to ensure no remnants of a Retail POS program remain.

4.    Delete the Reckon folder from the C:\ drive.

5.    Reinstall Retail POS on the POS Administrator PC.

How did we do?
