Some desktop applications may appear blurred on high-DPI displays

Legacy KB ID: 5569

Question

Why is my Reckon Accounts window looking blurry after upgrading to Windows 10 /8/8.1? The Screen and fonts look fuzzy and is hard to read.

Answer

This is due to the incompatibility with the High DPI displays in the windows 10 which may not work correctly with some applications. Please refer to support Microsoft page https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2900023/some-desktop-applications-may-appear-blurred-on-high-dpi-displays for more information.

Solution
  1. Disable the display scaling on high DPI settings:
  2. Close the Reckon Accounts Application.
  3. Go to the desktop of your windows and right click on the Reckon Account’s Shortcut icon. (If there is no shortcut on the desktop, you can find one in the start menu)
  4. Go to Properties
  5. Go to Compatibility tab
  6. Select Disable Display Scaling on High DPI settings and Ok.
  7. Open the Reckon Accounts again and see if the issue is resolved.

If the issue also relates to the size of the font text being very small, refer to this Microsoft page.

Make Windows easier to see (microsoft.com)

The size of the Reckon Accounts fonts within the program can be affected by the "Ease of Access" settings in Windows 10, or the "Accessibility" setting in Windows 11.

This is a Windows operating system setting, not a Reckon Accounts setting.
