Reckon Accounts is unable to detect an installation of Microsoft Internet Explorer

Background

Microsoft changes

In May 2021, Microsoft announced that Internet Explorer (IE) 11 desktop application will be retired and be out of support as of 15th June 2022.

As announced, the Internet Explorer 11 desktop application will be disabled/removed on the Windows feature for certain versions of Windows 10 and officially replaced with Microsoft Edge with IE mode.

Much like other desktop applications, Reckon Accounts Business Range has used the embedded Internet Explorer for certain features and functionalities.

Following the Microsoft announcement, the Reckon Accounts were updated to be compatible with these technical changes. However, there are certain features that are still being investigated for future enhancements due to their complexities and still have dependencies on IE.

Updated Reckon Accounts versions:

  1. Reckon Accounts Business Range 2022 Release 1 (March 2022 Release)
  2. Reckon Accounts Business Range 2022 Release 2 (June 2022 Release)
