Logo is black when emailing an invoice

Legacy KB ID: 5270

Question

Why is my logo printed as a black box on my emailed invoices?  Viewed on screen or on a paper printout the logo is fine.

Answer

Recreate your logo as a JPG format file that is no more than 200kB in size.

The Issue

This issue is generally encountered when the logo image file is created in a PNG format.  It may be compounded by an image file that is larger than 200kB.

Workaround.

1.    Delete the logo from your Accounts Business templates

2.    Open your logo image file in Microsoft Paint.

3.    Save as a new image file, selecting the JPG format

4.    In Windows Explorer, check the size of the file.  If it is greater than 200kb then:

a.    Open the JPG file in Microsoft Paint

b.    By trial and error, use the Resize button to reduce the size of the image to below 200kB.

5.    Open your Accounts Business template in Layout Designer and insert the new JPG image file into the Logo field.

6.    Click OK and OK again to save and close.

If Microsoft paint cannot save the file, Accounts Business will not be able to include it on an email.  Create a new image from source.
