No Miscellaneous Field in Reinvest – Income Reinvested transaction option

Question

I am reinvesting income, but this distribution also had a miscellaneous amount.  How can I process this miscellaneous amount in the one transaction?

Answer

There are 3 ways you can enter this transaction:

Method 1:

1.    In Reinvest – Income Reinvested, record the normal dividend and Trust Income;

2.    In Miscellaneous Income, record the miscellaneous amounts and assign it to a Category.

Method 2:

1.    In Record an Income Event, enter the total (dividend + Trust/Fund + miscellaneous) amount of the distribution;

2.    In Buy enter the reinvestment.

Method 3:

1.    In Record Multiple Income/Expense, record the income from dividends, Trust/Fund and miscellaneous separately;

2.    In Buy enter the reinvestment.
