After upgrading, why does the Market Value appear as $0.00 for some or all shares?

Legacy KB ID: 2879

Question

This is caused by a difference in the Security Type list between versions. On upgrade CashBook 2003 cannot match Security Types from version 8 so their association with securities is removed. Hence the Market Value appears as zero?

Answer

Workaround:

-Open the Backup in Version 8.
-Open Lists > Investment > Security Type List
-Create new Security Types to replace the default ones that had been deleted, these are: Unit/Inv., Trust, Gilt, Share and Bond.
-Open Lists > Investment > Security List and edit each security to select one of the Types that were added.

Now upgrade the file and the Market Value for each share will appear correctly.
