POS Kitchen Printer skips some items when transaction put on hold.

Legacy KB ID: 3979

Question

When using a Kitchen Printer and putting transactions on hold, why do some items not print?

Answer

When a transaction is put on hold, items added since the last hold action will be printed to the Kitchen Printer.

If the action of putting a transaction on hold and taking it off hold is too fast (1 second), the item will not print but will be printed the next time the transaction is put on hold or the transaction completed.

This issue is accentuated on second and subsequent terminals that print to a Kitchen printer attached to the first terminal.  It is more likely that second and subsequent terminals will experience this issue.

Workaround

Slow down the rate at which a transaction is put on hold and then taken off hold.
