Question

Why do I receive this message when I install Quickbooks? 

Answer

Quickbooks setup has detected that an installation\uninstallation of an application may not be complete. Please restart your computer and then install quickbooks. You must restart your computer before you can install quickbooks. -> OK -> Setup is not complete -> Quickbooks could not be installed -> Cancelling setup.

If you are experiencing this, follow the steps below:

1. From the Windows Start, choose Run...
2. Type in msconfig and click OK
3. A System Configuration Utility window will appear
4. From the General tab, choose Selective Startup.
5. Untick all the options except for Load System Services
6. Click on Close.
7. A message will appear saying you must restart your computer for the changes to take effect. Click Restart.

You should now be able to install your Quickbooks successfully.

How did we do?

Problem: Reckon Accountscannot complete the reconfiguration process... or Please insert the disk: QuickB

Reckon Accounts shows as not Activated.
