How do I confirm I am logged in as the Admin user that can enable the file to be upgraded to the newer version?

When a newer version of the product is released you can upgrade your current data file to the new version format.

In order to upgrade a data file, you need to be able to login as the default primary Admin user.

To check whether you are the Admin user, follow the steps below.

1. Login to the Hosted platform.

Note: The login for the Hosted platform user of type Administrator is different to the login for the company data file default Admin user.

2. Once logged in to the Hosted platform, are you actually able to login and open the data file with any username/password combination using the currently available version of Reckon Accounts Hosted?

Example: Accounts 2022 R2 application or 2023 R1

When the newer version becomes available, you would see the latest as well as the previous version that you can login to.

Example: Here it shows what it would look like to see two different versions available when a newer one is released.

So when the Accounts 2023 R1 is released, you would see the "Launch Accounts 2022 R2" and a "Launch Accounts 2023 R1 (NEW)" button.

3. What company data file username do you normally use to login to the data file that allows you access?

Reckon Accounts Login (Company Data File Login)

a) If you cannot login at all to the specific company data file, then we can assist with an Admin password removal service with a free low priority and chargeable express service options.

b) If you are not prompted for a username or a password, then this mean there is only one user account setup which is the default Admin user, it has no password set and therefore would not require a password removal service.

c) If you are using the username "Admin" and the associated password is allowing you into the data file, then you are already logging in as the default Admin user and therefore would not require a password removal service.

d) If you are using the a different username and the associated password is allowing you into the data file, you just need to confirm whether you are the actual Admin user.

4. If you can login to the data file using the username that you are normally are able to use, then view the User List.

Click on the menu Company Users View Users

i. Confirm which username is logged in as it will have "(logged on)" alongside it

ii. Confirm whether there is any username called "Admin" or any username that has "(Admin)" alongside it

You should now see the username that has "(Admin)" alongside it and the one which has "(logged on)" alongside it.

If you attempt to login and use the username "Admin" and

a) you do not know the password

b) leaving the password field blank does not allow access

c) the password you believe to be correct is now allowing access

Then you can request a data service by completing the web form linked below.
