POS Terminal unexpectedly requests a User ID

Question

Why does POS Terminal ask me to enter a User ID? I don’t remember setting any user names and passwords. 

Answer

There are two areas in POS where a password request can be configured.  Check both and set to the desired level.

In the POS Administrator

Tools > Options > Security

Is Enable Point of Sale Security checked?  Uncheck if not needed. Click on Apply then OK to save changes.

Tools > Options > Transactions

Is A Sales Person must be selected checked? Uncheck if not needed.  Click on Apply then OK to save changes.
