C=239 when editing an employee in Reckon Accounts

Question

When editing an Employee why do I get the error:

‘An error has occurred in Reckon Accounts.

Please restart Reckon Accounts 2023 and try again.  If you continue to experience this error, please note the C= value and contact technical support.  C=239.’?

Answer

This error results from a 0:00 entered into the hours field on the employee Record.  The hours field should not have 0:00; it must be blank or contain a value greater than 0:00. 

Workaround

Delete the 0:00 from the hours field of the Employee’s Payroll and Compensation main screen. 

Additional Information

Reckon Accounts does not allow you to enter 0:00 into the hours field.  The information would have been imported from an IIF file.
