Viewing YTD values in the new experience
We have improved the experience of entering YTD figures in Reckon Payroll, by adding the values against the employee rather than under the general settings screen.
We have configured the Reckon Payroll display specifically to avoid confusion in instances where employee's have had YTD values entered in Reckon One. This is why some employee's YTD summary screens look a little different, when you select to edit the values.
This is best explained in the following example -
Scenario
An employee was entered into Reckon One mid way through the financial year and had YTD values that needed to be displayed on their pay slip and reported to the ATO.
Pay item | YTD value | Display on Pay slip | Report to ATO |
Ordinary Time Earnings | $5,000.00 | ![]() | ![]() |
Double Time | $650.00 | ![]() | ![]() |
Allowance | $66.00 | ![]() | ![]() |
PAYG Tax | $1,050.00 | ![]() | ![]() |
In Reckon One, the values would be entered under the following screens
- Settings > Payroll settings > YTD setup > Pays

- Settings > Payroll settings > YTD setup > Tax

- Settings > Payroll settings > YTD setup > Payment Summaries

In Reckon Payroll, the values are displayed in the Initial YTD screen.
This is accessed when selecting Edit details from within the employee profile and selecting the Initial YTD screen.

The screen will display three tabs:-
- Pay - this displays any pay items that were entered in Reckon One under Settings > Payroll settings > YTD setup > Pays

- Tax - this displays any tax values that were entered in Reckon One under Settings > Payroll settings > YTD setup > Tax

- Payment summary - this displays any reporting category's that were entered in Reckon One under Settings > Payroll settings > YTD setup > Payment summaries

These values can be modified or deleted.
What if I have not entered any YTD values for an employee in Reckon One
For employees that have not had YTD values entered in Reckon One, you will not see the 3 tabs.
Selecting Edit details and then Edit under Initial YTD's, allows you to enter any YTD values based on each pay item
