Company Snapshot Income and Expense Trend Graph shows incorrect values

Question

In the Company Snapshot, why is the Income and Expense Trend Graph showing incorrect values? 

Answer

You will encounter this error if you utilize sub-accounts to an income account called Income and to an expense account called Expense.  The amounts in the sub-accounts are doubled. 

If you expand the graph by clicking on the Income or Expense column, the correct value for the income account will be displayed in the expanded graph.

Workaround

Rename your accounts called Income and Expense to another name.

The words Income and Expense can be used in a multi-word account name, so ‘Sales Income’ and ‘Office Expense’ are acceptable account names.
