BAS/IAS fields 8A, 8B & 9 show incorrect amounts

Legacy KB ID: 3617

Question

Why do the BAS/IAS fields 8A, 8B & 9 show incorrect amounts after I had manually entered amounts in 1A and 1B then switched off GST tracking?

Answer

If you manually enter figures in 1A or 1B and then click Config and untick 'Include GST on this BAS' the Total Fields (8A, 8B & 9) still include the amounts you manually entered in their calculations, even though 1A & 1B display 0 and are greyed out.

Solution

Click on the Config button and tick Include GST on this BAS;

Remove the tax code references in 1A and 1B;

Check that fields 8A, 8B & 9 are now blank;

Click on the Config button and untick Include GST on this BAS.
