Star TSP100 (USB Only) Receipt Printer does not cut the receipt and does not open the Cash Drawer

Question

Why doesn’t my receipt printer (Star TSP100 (USB Only)) not cut the receipt or open the cash drawer when using Retail POS?  It functions properly on other systems and it is configured properly in Retail POS.  I do have the latest drivers. 

 

Answer

We have not been able to identify the source of this error.

Users have found selecting the Star SP512MD42/SP542MD42 receipt printer (Tools > Options > Receipt Printers) resolved the issue.
