Error: An unexpected error has occurred, try again. if problem persists, contact the ATO. Error code {Code}

Error: An unexpected error has occurred. Please contact the Tax Office.

This error occurs when in the "Company Info and Adviser" section where the Adviser's ABN is entered incorrectly, or the tax agent number entered is not linked to the ABN provided. Please ensure the ABN and tax agent info is entered correctly, then try submitting again as normal.

If the above section is checked and everything is correct, please contact the ATO about this further as it's an error on their side.

Error: The element 'AddressDetailsPostal' in namespace 'https://www.sbr.gov.au/ato/payevnt' has invalid child element 'CountryC' in namespace 'https://www.sbr.gov.au/ato/payevnt'. List of possible elements expected: 'Line1T' in namespace 'https://www.sbr.gov.au/ato/payevnt'. Hint: while processing parent element [AddressDetailsPostal] child mandatory element [Line1T] was expected but not found

If you have never had a successful STP submission - please check the company's address + all employee's addresses. Ensure there are no special characters in address fields and that every employee has a postcode with 4 digits (no more or no less).

If you had successful submissions before this, is there a new employee(s) compared to other submissions? If so, check their address. If nothing is different from the last successful lodgement, simply try submitting again as normal. The ATO sometimes returns this error when they have problems processing on their end.
