Location of Reckon Personal datafiles

Where can I find the Recken Personal sample data files on my PC?

Ssample files are stored in the following locations:

· Windows 10, 8 & 7 - C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Quicken\Sample\

· Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit\Quicken\Sample\

There are up to 3 sample files:

· Personal: .....\Sample.QDF

· Personal Plus: .....\Sample1.QDF

· Home & Business: .....\Sample2.QDF

These folders may be hidden. To see hidden folders:

On Windows 10, 8 & 7:

1. Click on the Windows Start button and Computer;

2. Click on the Organize button in the top left hand corner;

3. Select Folder and Search Options;

4. Click on the View tab;

5. In the larger Advanced Settings box find the entry Hidden files and folders ;

6. Click the radio button Show hidden files, folders, and drives then OK.

On Windows XP:

1. Click on the Windows Start button and My Computer;

2. On the top menu line, click on Tools and select Folder Options;

3. Click on the View tab;

4. In the larger Advanced Settings box find the entry Hidden files and folders;

5. Click the radio button Show hidden files and folders then OK;

When you create a new datafile it will be saved in:

· Windows 10, 8 & 7 - C:\Users\User\Documents\Quicken\

· Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\Quicken\

.....except when a Sample file is open, then the new file will be saved to the sample file directory.
