Question

Why can’t I access QuickBooks Hosted? I get the error:  Internet Explorer has closed this webpage to protect your computer.

Answer

Your computer has an option called Data Execution Prevention turned on and Internet Explorer has been configured to utilize this feature for web pages.  When a website that contains executable script is encountered Internet Explorer closes it and generates the error. 

Workaround

1.    In Internet Explorer, Tools > Internet Options > Advance;

2.    Scroll down the Settings list to Security;

3.    Uncheck Enable memory protection to help mitigate online attacks*;

4.    Click OK, close Internet Explorer and relaunch it.
