Incorrect amount appearing in the Register Balance

Question

After I reconcile my bank or credit card register, why does the register balance change to an incorrect figure?

Answer

A number of users have reported this error to appear after they have reconciled the credit card or bank account register. This error does not appear to effect all users.

As a workaround we have found that restarting Quicken will rectify the amount that appears and this should be done after every reconciliation, further testing revealed no data integrity errors.
