New transaction is assigned the wrong date when entered in the register

Legacy KB ID: 3102

Question

When entering a new transaction in my register, why doesn't today's date appear in the Date column?

Answer

This issue will occur if the system date on your computer is incorrect.

The Quicken program will display the current system date as the default date when entering new transactions in the register.

To change your system date and resolve this issue:

  1. Quit the Quicken program.
  2. Double-click the system clock located in the lower-right corner of the screen.
  3. Click the Date & Time tab, edit the date in the Date section, and then click Apply.
  4. Start Quicken and reenter the transaction in the register.
