The Wizard was interrupted when attempting to install/reinstall Quicken

Legacy KB ID: 2747

Question

Why do I receive the message - The Wizard was interrupted when attempting to install/reinstall Quicken?

Answer

It is sometimes necessary to perform a clean install to remove residual Quicken installation files and folders left behind by Microsoft Add or Remove Programs.

  • Ensure that you have a good backup of your data files. If you do not have a backup, go to the file location and copy all the files to a CD or another location on your computer. Your data file set is comprised of multiple files with the same file name but different extensions. The main component of the Quicken data set is the on with a QDF file extension. The supplementary components can have file extensions of QSD, QEL, QID, QPH etc
  • Locate these files and copy them to a safe location on your hard drive, memory stick etc.
