Gmail block emails from Reckon Accounts Business

Question

Why does Gmail block emails sent from Reckon Accounts Business?  I get an error: “Password Incorrect”.

Answer

Emailing through a web-based email service is a new feature in Reckon Accounts Business.  For basic configuration please see the In-Product help Index.

Google security will block sign-in attempts from some apps or devices that do not use modern security standards, as these apps and devices are easier to break into.  You may get the error:  “Password Incorrect”.

You will need to allow less secure apps and devices to use the Gmail system.

 

Detailed Instructions
  1. Log in to your Gmail Account;
  2. Click the Account picture or avatar at the top right - then click Manage your Google account
  3. Go to Security
  4. Scroll down to Less secure app access
  5. Click Turn on access (not recommended)
  6. From Allow less secure apps: OFF, toggle to turn this option on
If you have 2 steps verification settings enabled, on your Google account, this option is not available.
