"Page can't be found... HTTP ERROR 404" when printing due to Adobe Extension in Google Chrome

This has been resolved as of 29 March 2025.

Overview

When attempting to print from Google Chrome, users may encounter an error stating that the page can't be found.

To resolve this, Chrome will revert to its default printing functionality by:

  1. Disabling the Adobe Acrobat browser extension
  2. Adding and allowing the Reckon Accounts Hosted site

Issue

This issue is specifically related to the Adobe Acrobat browser extension interfering with the printing process. Microsoft Edge is not affected.

The Adobe Acrobat extension in Google Chrome can sometimes override the browser’s default printing functionality, causing print jobs to fail or return the following error:

This <GUID>.amazonappstream.com page can’t be found
No web page was found for the web address: <URL><TOKEN>
HTTP ERROR 404

Additionally, you may see the following pop-up message, and clicking the "here" link will result in the same issue:

A file has been printed
A new window opened to download the file. If a window didn't open, please click here to download and print your file.

Workaround

Option 1: Allow permission

When accessing Reckon Accounts Hosted in the new platform for the first time, your browser may show a pop-up to allow actions from appstream2.ap-southeast-2.aws.amazon.com. If no pop-up appears, you may need to manually adjust these settings in your browser.

These settings can be changed anytime in your browser preferences.

As an example, to allow Pop-ups and redirects for printing, users may need to do the following:

  1. Using Google Chrome, go to Settings > Privacy and security
  2. Select the Site permission for appstream2.ap-southeast-2.aws.amazon.com
  3. Find Pop-ups and redirects and set to "Allow"

Option 2: Adjust Adobe Extension Settings
  1. Click on the Extensions icon in your Reckon Accounts Hosted session in Google Chrome.
  2. Click on the three-dot menu for Adobe Acrobat.
  3. Navigate to "This can read and change site data" and select either:
    1. When you click the extension, or
    2. On appstream2.ap-southeast-2.aws.amazon.com
  4. Reload your Reckon Accounts Hosted session and try printing again.

Option 3: Manage Extensions via Chrome Settings
  1. Click on the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of Google Chrome.
  2. Select Extensions > Manage Extensions.
  3. Locate the Adobe Acrobat extension and click on Details.
  4. In Site access, set "Allow this extension to read and change all your data on websites that you visit" to:
    1. On click, or
    2. On specific sites
      1. Then add the site: https://appstream2.ap-southeast-2.aws.amazon.com/*
  5. Reload your Reckon Accounts Hosted session and try printing again.
