How do I set up a Posiflex programmable keyboard in Retail Point of Sale?

Answer

Follow the steps below to set up your Posiflex programmable keyboard:

  1. From your QuickPOS CD, locate and load kbw55.exe to your hard disk
  2. Double click on kbw55.exe to unexpand (Self Extracting ZIP File)
    Note: The default location is C:\KBW
  3. Click Unzip. The files will be extracted
  4. Browse to C:\KBW folder
  5. Locate and double click on SETUP.EXE
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the Posiflex Programmable Keyboard
  7. Plug in your POSIFLEX Programmable Keyboard to your system
  8. For KB3100 and KB3200 Keyboards, turn Control Lock to L1 position
  9. From the Start menu, select Programs > Posiflex Tool > Posiflex Programmable Keyboard
  10. The keyboard will be detected and the program will open
  11. From the File menu, select Open
  12. Select the appropriate Keyboard Template File from Retail Point of Sale CD and click Open 
     - Use QPPF2100WIN.TPL for Posiflex KB2100 Keyboard ( 55 KEY)
     - Use QPPF31QTWIN.TPL for Posiflex KB3100 Keyboard (112 KEY)
     - Use QPPF3200WIN.TPL for Posiflex KB3200 Keyboard (QWERTY +55KEY)
     - Use QPPF3000WIN.TPL for Posiflex KB3000 Keyboard (176 KEY FLAT)
     - Use QPPF6000WIN.TPL for Posiflex KB6000 Keyboard (101 KEY FLAT)
     - Use QPPF6200WIN.TPL for Posiflex KB6200 Keyboard (QWERTY +19KEY)
  13. From the Keyboard menu, select Write (Will take approx 1 minute)
  14. This will load the Keyboard Template into your Posiflex Keyboard
  15. Close the program
  16. Open Retail Point of Sale Terminal and from the Tools menu, select Qptions...
  17. From the Keyboard tab, select the Keyboard from the drop down list

You will now be able to use your Posiflex Keyboard.
