Question

How do I add an extra field to my invoice template?

Answer

You can use the Layout Designer to add a text box to your custom forms as follows:

1) From the Lists menu, choose the template you want to modify. Note: You cannot modify or add fields to standard Reckon Personal forms. However, you can base a new template on a standard Reckon Personal form.

2) From the Templates menu button, choose New if you are creating a new template, or choose Edit if you want to modify an existing template.

3) Click the Fields tab.

4) Next to the Other field, click the Screen checkbox to make the new field visible in the Layout Manager and on your screen.

5) Click the Print checkbox if you want the field and its contents to be printed on the form.

6) Type in the name of the field you want to add. You are adding both the header box and the box for entering text or numbers.

7) Click Layout Designer.

8) If you get the message warning that you have added fields that are currently overlapping other fields, you can click Re-layout to have the fields automatically rearranged to fit on the form, or you can click Skip and rearrange the fields yourself in the Layout Designer.

9) When the template looks the way, you want it to, click OK.

10) Now you can begin entering information into the new form, continue to customize other forms, or click OK to close the window.
