Surcharges do not calculate correctly on Refunds

Question

Why does a mixed transaction that results in a net refund to the customer not handle the surcharge correctly?  Dollar Surcharges are subtracted and not added – that is, the refund to the customer is increased rather than decreased. 

Answer

This error will occur if you apply the dollar surcharge to a negative subtotal. 

Workaround

Dollar Surcharges can be applied at any stage so you should apply them before making a subtotal that will result in refund to the customer (a negative amount).
