Reckon Accounts Personal: Return of Capital does not show on the Investment Activity Report

Legacy KB ID: 4843

Question

Why does the Investment Activity Report not show Return of Capital transactions?  It's expected to be listed with the Deposits and Withdrawals.

Answer

The Deposits and Withdrawals lines in the Investment Activity Report are configured to show new investment inflows and outflows.

If you double click on any of the amounts a Transactions Report will open which will show all transactions like Return of Capital.  Other entries that will be show are:

  • Miscellaneous Income
  • Dividends
  • Interest from Managed Funds and Term Deposits
  • Placeholder entries

You can view these transactions directly in the Investment Transaction Report

Workaround

  1. Open the Investment Activity Report and set the date for the required range.
  2. Double click on an amount on the Deposits or Withdrawal lines to open the Transactions Report and view the individual entries for all investment actions.
