Legacy KB ID: 5554

Question

I just bought the new Senor TP-100 receipt Printer. It is not working/printing. I cannot see the virtual Com port to connect to. How do I connect the Receipt Printer?

Answer

Senor has advised us that some of the new batches of TP-100 receipt printers are shipped with incompatible firmware or the virtual COM may not be active.

Please visit www.senortech.com.au/pages/downloads, search POS Printers, TP-100, Windows, and download the Virtual COM FW including instructions on how to flash your TP-100.

How to check if you have the incorrect Firmware?

  1. Turn the Receipt Printer Off.
  2. Press and hold the 'FEED' button on the receipt printer.
  3. Turn the Power on, while holding the Feed button.
  4. Immediately it will start printing the Configuration details of the receipt printer, you will find the firmware version towards the end of the print.

To resolve the issue, please download and install the two drivers, TP-100 Windows Driver and Virtual COM FW for Windows driver provided by Senor.

Step 1: Install TP-100 Windows driver

  1. Download the driver TP-100 Windows Driver
  2. Go to the Unzipped folder and double click on TP 100(80) Setup.exe file to install the drivers.
  3. Now go to start menu and type Devices and printers, in search and open Devices and Printers window.
  4. You will see the new 80 Printer listed. right click on it and go to Printer Properties.
  5. Go to the Ports tab and select USB001 Virtual Port for USB. Apply.
  6. Now do the test Print from the general tab to confirm that printer is connected to PC.

Once confirmed the test print is success proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Install Virtual COM FW Firmware

  2. Follow the instructions from here: Logo_Firmware Guide.pdf
