Share prices ( One Step Update ) not updating in my Reckon Accounts Personal Program

Question

Why are my Share prices not updating when clicking on the One Step Update icon in my Reckon Accounts Personal (formerly Quicken) program?

Answer

When clicking the Update Now button, it fails to update the share prices and falls into a loop.

If you are experiencing this, set off update from the Investing menu option:

Investing > Online Activities > Download Quotes




Alternatively, follow the instructions below:

  1. Close Reckon Accounts Personal
  2. Right click on the Reckon Accounts Personal icon on your desktop and select Properties
  3. Click on the Compatibility tab
  4. From the Privilege Level, tick the check box Run this program as an administrator
  5. Click Apply and OK

Care - Reckon Accounts:  If Reckon Accounts was installed by a user other than the Administrator, selecting Run As Administrator will result in the message: This does not appear to be the computer Quicken was originally installed on, and Reckon Accounts will not open.  See kb2742 https://kb.reckon.com.au/issue_view.asp?ID=2742 for further steps.
