Legacy KB ID: 5471

Question

Why do I receive an Unrecoverable Error when attempting to view my memorised transactions list or when switching between multi-user to single-user mode?

Answer

Restore a good backup or request a service from Data Services.

The Issue

The datafile has been corrupted and cannot be corrected by Reckon Accounts utilities.

Detailed Instructions

  1. Open the data file by holding down the ALT key and clicking the selected data file
  2. Perform a Rebuild of the data file. Go to the File menu, then Utilities, and from the list of options, click on Rebuild Data
  3. View QBWin.log file.
  4. If the log contains the errors below:
    1. * LVL_ERROR--Error: Verify list Memorised Transaction: Record X has no name (X represents the record number.)
    2. * LVL_ERROR--Error: Verify Memorised Transaction: Unable to read master record. Master = 0

If you have a recent and reliable backup, you can restore it to resolve the issue. If you do not have a good backup, please click the following link to create a request for Data Services.
