Deleting the recently used files from the recently opened file list in Reckon Account Personal (RAP)

Legacy KB ID: 5646

Question

How can I edit and delete some of the files that appear in the recently used files list in Reckon Accounts personal, Home and Business?

Answer

When a file is opened it is listed on top of the recently accessed files list. This list will display 4 files that have been accessed last. You may want to clear this list to avoid any confusions of opening wrong files accidentally. Just in case if you have duplicate files or different versions of the file.

Who does this apply to?

Reckon Accounts Personal user. Any version ‘Home and Business’ or ‘Personal’.

Solution / Workaround:

Edit the QUSER.ini file and remove the entry of the file from the list.

When a file is opened in RAP it enters the filename and its location in the QUSER.ini file. You can edit that file and remove the entry for the file that you wish to be removed and save and close.

Detailed steps.

1) Go to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Intuit\Quicken\Config\QUSER.INI

2) Open the file with notepad

3) Under ‘Recent files’ section, you will see the list of files. Delete the entire line

4) Save the changes and close it.
