How do I Configure Windows To Show Fie Extensions?

Answer

===If you're using Windows 95===

1. Open 'My Computer'
2. Select the 'View' menu, & then select 'Options'
3. On the View tab, uncheck the box next to 'Hide file extensions for known file types'
4. Click 'OK' to close Options
5. Close 'My Computer'

===If you're using Windows 98===

1. Open 'My Computer'
2. Select the 'View' menu, & then select 'Folder Options'
3. On the View tab, uncheck the box next to 'Hide file extensions for known file types'
4. Click 'OK' to close Folder Options
5. Close 'My Computer'

===If you're using Windows ME, Windows 2000, or Windows XP===

1. Open 'My Computer'
2. Select the 'Tools' menu, & then select 'Folder Options'
3. In the Folder Options windows, click on the 'View' tab
4. Uncheck the box next to 'Hide file extensions for known file types'
5. Click 'OK' to close the Folder Options window
6. Close 'My Computer

===If you're using Windows Vista===

1. From the Windows Start Menu, choose Computer
2. From the Organise drop down menu and select Folder and Search Options
3. Click on the View tab
4. Uncheck the box for Hide extension for known file types
5. Click Apply and OK.
