Error Code 1722 - The RPC-server is unavailable, when reinstalling the QuickBooks PDF Converter.

Question

When re-installing the QuickBooks PDF converter, why do I get the Error Code 1722 when I click on the install.exe process ?

Answer

You will get this error when:

·         The Sprint Spooler Service is not turned on;

·         You have another PDF converter installed;

·         You have a computer activity monitor that your anti-virus application classes as spyware or adware.

 

 

Workaround 1:  Check that the Print Spooler Service is turned on

1.    Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services;

2.    Scroll down to Print Spooler;

3.    If disabled, right click the service and go to Properties;

4.    Set Start-up type to Automatic

5.    Click Start to start the service

6.    Click Apply then OK.

You should now be able to install the QuickBooks PDF Converter (Install.exe).

 

 

Workaround 2: Remove the other PDF converter

1.    Start > Devices and Printers;

2.    Note any installed PDF Converters.  Generally PDF Writers will not cause a problem, but we are aware that NOVA PDF does cause a conflict with the QuickBooks PDF Converter.   You will need to uninstall this PDF converter/writer;

3.    Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features;

4.     Highlight the PDF converter/writer (eg: NOVA PDF), right-click it and uninstall;

5.     Reboot your PC.

You should now be able to install the QuickBooks PDF Converter (Install.exe).

 

 

Workaround 3: Remove the computer activity monitor

You may want to consult your IT professional.

Use a reputable malware/adware removal application to identify and remove it. Before scanning and removing, make sure the removal application is updated with the latest definitions.

If the malware remains after running a malware removable program, try again with another removal application.
