Unable to create a SuperStream Export File when New Employees exist in a payrun in Payroll Premier

Legacy KB ID: 5420

Question

Why can’t I create a superstream export file in Payroll Premier whenever I add new Employees?

Answer

Check that all super funds have an ABN listed, and that all employees have a Super Fund assigned.

The Issue

Sometimes new employees may not reach the earnings threshold level to qualify to receive a super Contribution; or, they do not have all the details you require to complete their employee record for super.  When a pay is processed the new employee will be tagged as NO for the field “Valid for Export”.  When you check for errors, none are found.

However, where Super Fund details are not complete, when the superstream file is created, the new employee is given the Employee Number of an existing employee.  The Superstream export file cannot be created as there is a conflict of two employees with the same employee number in the export file

Workaround

  1. Check that all super funds have an ABN number assigned to them;

  2. Check that all pays regardless of being paid super or not have a superfund assigned to their super item;

  3. Re-export the super data
