Runtime error 429. Active X component can't create object.

Question

Run Time error 429 Active X component can't create object, followed then by Run Time 440 Automation Error.

Normally this error will come up AFTER you have specified the location of the QuickBooks data file and then clicked NEXT.

Answer

To resolve this error.

1) Uninstall POS Administrator.

2) Open the 'Windows Search' utility and search for 'POS*.*'

3) In the search results delete any file that begins with 'POS' which is in the C:\Windows\System folder (Windows 98) or C:\Windows\System32 (Windows NT/2000/XP).

4) Reinstall POS Administrator as per the user guide.
