Cannot print the ABA Preview in the new Reckon Accounts Hosted

Question

Why can I not print the ABA Preview on the new Reckon Accounts Hosted?  I get a blank screen and sometimes an error message pops up:  “Printer not activated, error code -20”.

Answer

Select the printer: “Reckon Printer (redirected 18)” and the Option As laid out on screen before printing the ABA Preview.

 

The Issue

Printing is handled differently in the new Reckon Accounts Hosted.  In most printing functions you will only see one printer – Reckon Printer (redirected 18).  You do not have an option to select another printer.  Printers are selected later for the PDF tab in your browser.

To print the ABA Preview, the process needs access to a local Reckon Accounts V4 PDF Converter.  This converter will appear in the Printer Option list, and as it is the top of the list will be selected.  If you click on Print at this stage, the print will fail.

You must select the Reckon Printer (redirected 18) to print successfully.

 

Workaround

1.    Select Reckon Printer (redirected 18).

2.    Click on the Options tab and select as laid out on screen.

3.    Click Print.
