How do I use the Pro Timer?

Answer

Start QuickBooks. 1) From the file menu select "Timer Activities" then select "Export lists for timer". 2) Give your export file a name e.g. YourFileName.iif, save it in the QuickBooks folder. 3) Run the Pro Timer program. 4) From the file menu select Import QuickBooks lists 5) Select the iif file that you have just saved in the quickbooks folder. 6) Click on the "Save" button. Now you are ready to start entering and timing . Select New Activity. 1) Enter the details ie Name, Customer, Class, Service item, and duration. Then click Ok 2) Select the current activity, and use the Start, stop, and resume buttons to time the activity. Note only one activity can be timed, at any one time. 3) Once finished timing, you will need to export the activities. 4) From the file menu select Export Time Activities. Give your file a name, save it in the ProTimer Folder. 5) Now open QuickBooks. Goto timer activities, and select import activities from timer. Select the file from the ProTimer Folder. 6) Once imported you can invoice out these activities by using the time/costs button on the invoice screen.
