How to include all Books or Company Files by default for a Dashboard

Scenario

By default, all contents (Charts, KPIs, Ratios, and/or Reports) in Reckon Insights does not load automatically. This is applicable to any templates within Reckon Insights.

For example, a Value required is prompted for the user to make a selection whenever a Dashboard template is opened. Then, the Load function needs to be actioned to load the data from the selected data source.


However, if a certain template is always used, and you do not want to make selection and load each time, then Reckon Insights can be configured to always load all the data sources.


Solution

Step 1: Copy from a template

It is recommended to use templates as a starting point in building your own Insights. If you already have one, then proceed to Step 2.

In this example, we are using the Accounts Receivable Dashboard.
  1. Open the Accounts Receivable Dashboard
  2. Click on the ellipses (3 vertical dots) on the upper right-hand
  3. Select Copy dashboard


  1. Select a folder location to create the copy – My folder or any Shared folder location
  2. Then, click on Copy


  1. Click Done on the confirmation
  2. Click on the Accounts Receivable Dashboard (copy) to open the saved content


  1. Otherwise, navigate to the saved Folders and open the content


Step 2: Modify the Dashboard settings

  1. Click on the ellipses (3 vertical dots) on the upper right-hand again
  2. Select Edit dashboard


  1. On the right hand of the Book Name, click on the ellipses (3 vertical dots)
  2. Select Edit


  1. Update the Control from 'Tag List' to 'Advanced'
  2. Update the Configure Default Value from 'is any value' to 'is not null'
  3. Click on Update
  4. Then, click on Load followed by Save


  1. When the Dashboard is re-opened, it will initially display blank
  2. Click on Load to view the updated contents


By configuring the Dashboard settings, this will always make your data readily available when loaded.
