Cannot create a new account or category in Reckon Accounts Personal 2016

Question

I have successfully installed Reckon Accounts Personal 2016 but when I create a new account I get a message to select a valid date range.  How do I proceed?

Answer

Change your Region and Language setting on your computer to English (Australia).

 

The Issue

If the Date setting on your computer is set to a format that displays the date as 1/Jan/2016, then Reckon Accounts Personal will not be able to read the date.

Setting your Region& Language Setting to English (Australia) will ensure that you have the correct formats for date and time for the proper functioning of Reckon Accounts Personal.

 

Detailed Instructions

  1. Close Reckon Accounts Personal

  2. Control Panel > Category View > Clock, Language and Region > Region and Language

    Windows 10: continue to select > Region – Change date, time or number format

  3. On the Format tab and in the format field, select English (Australia)

  4. Ensure that in the Date and time formats section, the short date show d/MM/yyy.

  5. Click OK.

Launch Reckon Accounts Personal and your will now be able to create new accounts.
