Data Recovery: How to rename a TLG file on Reckon Accounts Hosted

One way to reset the TLG file is to simply rename it.

Detailed steps for renaming a TLG file.

  1. Login to Reckon Accounts hosted, but do not open your company file. If the company data file is in-use it will not allow you to rename the TLG file.
  2. Click on the My Files icon on the top toolbar
  3. Click on the Q folder and then locate the sub-folder/shared folder in which your QBW file is located which is also where the TLG file is stored
  4. You can type "tlg' into the search field which should then only show files with TLG in their name.
  5. Select the file by clicking on the checkbox for that specific TLG file
  6. Once the desired file is selected, click on the Actions button, then click on the Rename option
  7. The data file name will now be Editable. Change it by adding a suffix ".OLD" to file name and click the check mark icon.
  8. The TLG File name is now changed and saved, so when you next open your company data file a new TLG file will be created.
