For Reckon Accounts desktop, I recommend the following be performed regularly:

1) Generate reports such as the following:

• Trial Balance
• Balance Sheet
• Customer Balance Summary
• Supplier Balance Summary

This will help confirm that the figures are as you expect them to be and that the debits values are equal to the credit values.

Save a copy of these as PDF or Excel files and save them with clear file names indicating the report and date they were created.

In the example below you can see 4 folders for each week in a month. Inside those Week folders, can be Day folders.

To make a copy of a file:

i. Click on the file once so that it is selected

ii. Press the CTRL key and C key together to make a copy

iii. Press the CTRL key and V key together to paste that copy to a new location

Those QBW copies can be placed in user-created folders on your local computer C:\ drive such as within your Windows Desktop or on an external USB device.

For the "End of week" backups, these can be done using the built-in backup function that includes the complete verification.
