Why is the item price incorrect when I change to a different currency customer?

Question

I have entered the an invoice but have since discovered that I have charged the wrong customer. This new customer uses a different currency  but when I change the customer, the item price is not recalculated. Why is this so?

Answer

Once you have entered the item in, the price is set and altering customers will only alter the exchange rate but not recalculate the item price. In order for QuickBooks to recalculate your prices according to the new exchange rate, you will need to clear the screen and re-enter the information in again.

If you have already saved the invoice, you will need to void the transaction and re-enter the transaction in again.
