Transaction on the Imported Bank Statement is already matched to the bank account

Legacy KB ID: 4059

Question

Why can’t I match a transaction in my imported bank statement to the transaction in my bank register?  I get the error:  “You can only match transactions in your register which are uncleared”.

Answer

Your bank register transaction has already been matched to an imported bank statement and cannot be matched again.  (The transaction in the bank register will have a lightening symbol by it.)

This can occur if you previously attempted to match the transaction to an imported statement, but before clicking on Done, your Reckon Accounts closed unexpected.  The transaction was marked in the Bank Register as matched but as the action was not completed, the transaction remains in the bank statement as unmatched.

Workaround

This is not a critical event.

Import the rest of the bank statement transactions into Reckon Accounts, leaving only this transaction remaining.

Go to the Online Banking Centre and delete the Bank Statement in the From Bank section.
