Handling an employee that has both WT and M SL Tax codes

Legacy KB ID: 4940

Question

I have an employee who must have two tax codes applied – WT and M SL.  How can I process him into one entry on the EMS348 Return?

Answer

It is a very rare circumstance that an employee will need to have the WT and the M SL tax codes applied.

Reckon Accounts Business cannot handle this combination of tax codes without creating more than two entries for the employee in the EMS348 Report.

Workaround

To report correctly, you will need to have two employee entries for this employee – once as a contractor (WT) and a second as an ordinary employee with tax code M SL.  You may need to manually adjust PAYE tax amounts so that the correct amount of PAYE is withheld on each pay.
