The string Copy of: Quicken Service Invoice in the file FulName is too long.

Question

Why can’t I import my Accountant’s changes?  I get this error.

Answer

This error will occur when your Accountant makes a change to an invoice that has a long name. 

Workaround

When creating a customized invoice, give it a name that is not longer than 22 characters.

To rename an existing invoice:

1.    In the invoice with the template chosen, click on Customise > Manage Templates;

2.    In Template Name, enter a name of no more than 22 characters;

3.    Click OK.

With the current import of Accountant’s changes, either:

·         Ask the accountant to redo his changes from your original Accountant’s Copy and omit the change to this invoice.  Make the change to the invoice after the Accountant’s Copy has been imported;

*** OR ****

·         Printout the Accountant’s changes from the Accountant’s Changes file (*.QBY)

·         Cancel the Accountant’s Copy

·         manually enter all the Accountant’s changes to your company file.
