Error - The file size is not a correct multiple of the record length – when uploading the Taxable Payment Annual Reporting

Question
Why does my posting of the Taxable Payments Annual Report fail? I get the error:
Please contact your software developer.
The file size is not a correct multiple of the record length.
Answer
The error message suggests that some information is missing from the records in the file.
This is most likely due to a single digit being entered in the Branch No box in the Company Information section of the Company Information screen.
Workaround
Company > Company Information > Company Identification
In the small box after the Tax Rego ID (the ABN number), enter a blank.
· If your Branch No is something other than 001, then enter that number as a 3-digit number, i.e. 2 is entered as 002.
