Adjusting Date Format on the New Reckon Hosted Platform

If you’ve recently encountered an issue where the date format on your Reckon Hosted platform under my files section is displayed as mm/dd/yyyy instead of the expected dd/mm/yyyy, you’re not alone. This is a issue that has risen from system settings on your computer. The good news is that it's easy to resolve!!

Why Does This Happen?

Reckon Hosted may default to the mm/dd/yyyy format based on the regional settings of your computer or the configuration of your operating system. These settings determine how dates are displayed across different applications, including cloud platforms such as Reckon Hosted. If your device's regional settings are configured to a country that utilizes the mm/dd/yyyy format, such as the United States, Reckon Hosted will adopt this format accordingly.

This adjustment applies only to the new hosted "My Files" section, where the floating toolbar has been replaced with a new menu option. Additionally, when you select "My Files," you will see the "Last Modified" date displayed.

To resolve this, follow the steps below:

  1. Access the system settings:
    1. Go to your Start Menu and click on Settings.
    2. Alternatively, press Windows + I to open Settings directly.
  2. Navigate to Time and Language:
    1. Click on Time and Language.
    2. Click on Language & Region.
    3. Ensure that English (Australia) is selected under Windows display language.
    4. Ensure that Australia is selected under Country or Region.
  3. Go to Regional Format
    1. Select Australia from the drop-down menu for country and region.
    2. Under Regional format, select English(Australia) from drop down menu.
    3. Save Your Settings.

Log Out and Log Back Into Reckon Hosted

After adjusting your system settings, make sure to log out of your Reckon Hosted account and then log back in. This will refresh the platform and apply the updated regional settings to display the correct date format.

Conclusion:

By following these steps, you should now be able to view the date format as dd/mm/yyyy on Reckon Hosted. It’s super important to make sure your Windows 10/11 settings match the right language and region to get this fix working. If you’re still having trouble, just take a moment to double-check those settings. And if you need more help, don’t hesitate to reach out to Reckon support, we are here to assist you!!
