Cannot modify the Pay Period dates of a processed pay in QuickBooks 2012/13

Question

I have processed a pay with an incorrect pay period date range.  Although I can edit the pay and change the date range, the changes won’t save.  This was not a problem in previous versions of QuickBooks. 

Answer

As a result of various enhancements to the payroll module in the 2012/13 release of QuickBooks, the ability to edit some fields after the pay has been processed, has been curtailed. 

 

Workaround

Delete the pay and re-enter it with the correct Pay Period date range. 

Note:  if the pay being edited has been reconciled, then you will need to redo the reconciliations affected.

Reckon Accounts Desktop: Error: Adaptive server anywhere database engine has encountered a problem and needs to close.

The message Are you sure you want to exit Reckon Accounts message no longer appears.
