Set up bank feeds in Reckon Accounts Hosted

Learn how to set up bank feeds in Reckon Accounts Hosted.

Before adding any type of bank feed, you must create a Bank Data tile in the Reckon Customer Portal and link it to the Reckon Accounts Hosted company file.

Open banking

Open Banking is available only for Australian customers.

Before adding an Open Banking feed

Before adding an Open Banking feed, check to see if your account is Consumer Data Right (CDR) ready. Only accounts that are CDR ready will be available for selection in your Reckon Product. The process for making your account CDR ready can vary depending on your bank and account type.

Appoint a data sharing delegate / nominated representative for your business account

If you want to set up Open Banking for a business account (or an account where someone else manages the data on behalf of the account holder), you will need to appoint a nominated representative. This is a person appointed to give, amend, and manage authorisations to share consumer data from (and on behalf of) your businesses accounts with an Accredited Data Recipient (that is, your accounting software).

See this list of banks and their specific methods for appointing a nominated representative from ACSISS Data Services (our partner in Open Banking).

Personal account holders do not need to appoint a nominated representative to use Open Banking.

Direct feeds

Before adding a direct feed

Before adding a direct feed, check with your bank for any specific requirements. For instance, many business banking accounts require you to have access to internet banking to enter your Reckon user ID to connect your feeds. Some banks may ask you to complete a paper form for us to send to your bank institution.

It can take up to 10 days to see your transactions come through.

Direct feeds will not provide historical transactions. They only provide transactions from the date of activation with the bank.

Yodlee

Before adding a Yodlee feed

Before you can start using Yodlee feeds with your Reckon product, there are a few steps you may need to complete. You will require your bank login details and the device used for 2FA if applicable.

Once a connection is established, it can take up to 1 hour to see transactions.

Add and set up feed

  1. Log into Reckon Portal using your Reckon Accounts Hosted Username/Email and Password.
  2. Select Bank Data from the menu on the left of the screen.
  3. On the BankData tile in the Reckon Portal, select the ellipses menu (3 dots in the top right corner) and select Bank Feeds.
  4. Select Add Feed, or select Connect Existing Feeds to select any bank feeds that were previously created in your Reckon account but are not currently linked to a Bank Data tile in the Reckon Portal.
  5. Select your bank account Country.
  6. Select your bank feed type as Yodlee Feeds.
  7. Select your Bank from the drop-down list. This list is broken into 2 sections, with popular banks appearing at the top, and all banks appearing below.
  8. Select Next and then follow the Yodlee Signup wizard, which will require you to enter your online banking details.

The next step is to link the bank feed to an account in Reckon Accounts Hosted, so that transactions are automatically received into the correct account in Reckon. Only the person who added the feed (the bank feed owner) is able to link and unlink it to an account, or change the linked account.

Linking a bank feed for the first time

To link a bank feed to an account, it must be active and not already linked to any bank accounts.

  4. In the Actions column, next to the feed you wish to link, select the red link icon (when you hover over the icon it will say Feed not mapped to bank account) or select LINK in the Linked Account column.
  5. Select the bank account from the drop-down list.
  6. Select Save.
  7. The linked account will now show in the Linked Account column, and the link icon will turn blue.

Changing the bank account the feed is linked to

  4. In the Actions column, next to the feed you wish to link, select the blue link icon (when you hover over the icon it will say Feed mapped to bank account).
  5. Select the bank account from the drop-down list.
  6. Select Save.
  7. The linked account will now show in the Linked Account column.

Unlinking a bank feed

Unlinking a bank feed will unlink it from a bank account in Reckon but keep it active, so that it can be re-linked, or linked to another bank account. If you wish to cancel the feed instead, delete the bank feed.

  4. In the Actions column, next to the feed you wish to link, select the rubbish bin icon (when you hover over the icon it will say Delete this feed).
Selecting the rubbish bin icon will not delete your feed. After you select the icon, you'll be shown a confirmation message where you can choose to delete or unlink the feed.
  1. Select Unlink.
