Switch multifactor authentication (MFA) from SMS to authentication app

Learn how to switch your Reckon login MFA method from SMS to authenticator app. This process involves revoking your existing MFA and then setting it up using an authentication app.

Before switching MFA methods

Before you switch, you'll need one of the following:

  • Access to your mobile device that receives MFA codes, or
  • Your recovery PIN (saved when you initially created your Reckon account).
If you don’t have access to either, please contact support for assistance.

Revoke MFA

  1. Log in to the Reckon Customer Portal.
  2. Select the user icon in the top right corner of the screen.
  1. Scroll down to the Multi-Factor Authentication section.
  2. Select Revoke.
  1. Select how you'd like to authorise the revocation:
    1. Enter the MFA code sent to your mobile device, or
    2. Enter your recovery PIN.

Set up MFA using authentication app

  1. After you revoke MFA, you'll be directed to choose a new MFA method.
  2. Select Setup MFA using authentication app
  1. Connect your authentication app. You can either:
    1. Scan the QR code using your authentication app, or
    2. Manually enter the setup code shown on the screen into your app.
  2. Enter the 6-digit code generated by your authentication app.
  3. Select Continue.
  4. Set a new 6-digit recovery PIN.
  5. Click Continue again.
  6. Your MFA is now configured with your authentication app and you’ll be redirected to your Reckon Customer Portal dashboard.
